Pamela Anderson is enjoying

To say that Pamela Anderson is enjoying a full life would clearly be an understatement; the most recognizable Icon of the new millennium continues to hit her stride again and again in so many different fields.
This model, actress, mother, entrepreneur, philanthropist and activist has appeared on more magazine covers than any other star of her generation and been named in the Guinness book of World Records as “most downloaded”(loves that title).

Despite turning down deals which would cut too far in the time she puts aside for her children or projects that just “don’t feel right”- what?; She has achieved extraordinary success and worldwide fame on her own terms. She has stuck to her OWN philosophy and principles, made her own decisions and successfully navigated her way through the devious world of show business and survived her own dramatic love life, one full of chances taken, heartbreak and joy. She is a determined woman with no regrets, well maybe just a few.

Balancing with great wit, good humor, intelligence and style her role as the favorite Playboy sex symbol, a devoted and attentive mother, and an activist for charitable causes she enjoys a reputation for being beautiful, funny and smart. As she tells it, a cute smile and a trick pelvis will get you pretty far.

Her unparalleled career in television extends from the extraordinary global phenomenon which was Baywatch to her current global documentary series for E!, “Pam – Girl on the Loose”. Produced by World of Wonder it premiered at the end of July 2008 and has been acclaimed around the world. An atypical project in the current world of reality shows, it was shot on film in a cinema verité style, stylized yet unscripted and avoids the celebrity clichés. The critics (both the ones who liked it and the ones who did not!) universally acknowledged how different it was in its clear sense of aesthetic, cinematic and personal direction and how prominent was the stamp of its auteur. Comments such as “Pam Anderson gets up close and very personal – and calls the shots behind the camera” [People] and “Pamela Anderson’s reality show mostly reveals a shrewd mind” and “to her everlasting credit, we do not meet Anderson’s two boys”[Hollywood Reporter] indicate the degree of involvement and commitment.
Pamela’s favorite movie moment so far is, of course, “Borat”. Though she does not think of herself as “an actress” -Some do -while her performance convinced a lot of people that she had no idea she was about to be kidnapped! She knew, of course!

With her gymnastic training and tomboy background, she feels more like a circus performer than an actress in this town – and her list of unfulfilled glamorous fantasies brought her to Las Vegas in 2007 to be a magician’s assistant. Flying back and forth with exhausting frequency for soccer games and other mom duties she managed six months of magic on the weekends with her friend Hans Klok and enjoyed every minute. She was offered an extraordinary opportunity to have her own show in Vegas but decided it would not be in the family’s best interests.

She has also given the legendary cry of “Gentlemen, start your engines!” for NASCAR and intends to explore whatever other opportunities to break new ground come her way.

She is developing her own lines of eco-friendly body products and more (it goes without saying no animal testing will be involved). The first two product lines “RAW” (body products) and “FAKE” (non-leather products) will be launched in 2009.

She is building a new house and has been closely involved with its design and construction in every detail. She has collaborated with some of the most esteemed artists and photographers of the age and is a collector in her own right, numbering Richard Prince, Ruscha, Koons, Marilyn Minter, Mel Ramos, Santé, Terry Richardson and LaChapelle among her friends and her favorite works.

She acquired water-front property in Canada which was originally her grandmother’s and is developing it in a specifically ecologically sound way, saving the trees she loves and remembers from her childhood.

Her work for PETA is more intensive and consuming than ever. It is the season of the appalling Canadian seal hunt and Pamela was recently and personally chosen by the legendary Brigitte Bardot to represent her at her annual press conference to denounce this atrocity. While she was in Paris, Pamela grabbed the opportunity to fulfill another dream and performed a tribute to Ms. Bardot (in her Canadian school-girl French) at the legendary Crazy Horse in conjunction with Harley Davidson. In her native Canada she endorsed (and determinedly fought for) PETA’s recent efforts to persuade KFC to phase out the very worst aspects of the way their chickens were treated and to add a vegetarian sandwich to their menu – and in August of 2008 was delighted to celebrate victory with a personal visit to a KFC in Vancouver to eat one of the new sandwiches!

At forty one years old this powerful woman, devoted mother, sex symbol and style icon continues to live life on her own terms and give meaning to everything she does.

After completing her TV show, recent projects she’s excited about have included an extensive photo shoot for (and with!) the legendary and revolutionary designer Vivienne Westwood and her husband Andreas Kronthaler. Shot by the iconic Juergen Teller, these photos will provide the basis for Vivienne Westwood’s entire campaign for spring/summer 2009.

Pamela is also seeing her real estate projects through their green development process, supervising the creation of new cruelty free, conscious products to her demanding specifications and juggling the various movie, TV and personal appearance requests which come her way. At the same time, she continues to consider her family and her work for PETA as the major priorities in her somewhat frantic life.
