You can’t download the thrill of a live performance, which is why the excitement of seeing your favourite bands on stage endures in the digital age… And more of us are picking up guitars, drums and keyboards than ever, getting involved in making music and treading the boards ourselves – even if that just means the Dog And Duck down the road.

As the UK’s most vibrant music-making event, Music Live is the place to check out the latest and greatest gear from the world’s most famous brands. From electric guitars to software, drums to amplification, the exhibition area is crammed full of stuff to get your hands on. Free-to-attend seminars from industry experts helps visitors to get the most from their equipment too, and the involvement of BIMM in Music Live 2008 is set to see big names delivering advice on how to go about making a career in the music industry in changing times.

Talking of big names, Music Live has played host to the likes of Duff McKagan (Velvet Revolver), Bullet For My Valentine’s Matt Tuck, Slayer’s Kerry King, Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Rick Parfitt (Status Quo), Black Stone Cherry, Roy Mayorga (Stone Sour) and Tyla (Dogs D’Amour) in the last couple of years. Some have performed on the Music Live stage, and all have taken part in signing and meet-and-greet sessions, giving visitors a unique chance to meet some of planet’s most influential rock stars…
